COURSEBOOKS are available in bookshops and should be purchased beforehand. If the teaching material used during the course is included in the course fee, this will be mentioned in the course description. The teaching material will then be provided by the teacher. The required supplies for handicraft courses are not included in the course fee. You can purchase such supplies from the teacher and pay for them during the course. The cost will vary depending on the kind of work the students are doing and the extent to which students individually expend the supplies.
TEACHING BEGINS on the date and at the time stated in our programme and it ends when the number of hours of instruction specified have been completed. The length of each hour of instruction (t) according to which the total sum of hours of instruction for each course is calculated is 45 minutes. Lessons are not held on public holidays.
LESSONS ARE HELD on the school´s premises (Töölöntullinkatu 8, see map) unless the group has been told that the group will meet in a different location.
THE NUMBER OF THE CLASSROOM can be found on the first day of teaching by checking the TV monitor in the lobby on the ground floor. Students are advised to check the monitor each time they come to class because changes in room assignment are possible.
HELSINGIN AIKUISOPISTO IS LOCATED in the Töölö area of Helsinki and can be best reached by trams 4 and 10. In addition, bus stops for all the buses which go along Mannerheimintie, Topeliuksenkatu and Tukholmankatu are also nearby.
THE SCHOOL DOES NOT HAVE any parking facilities for the use of students.
TO FACILITATE ROOM ALLOCATION, students with physical handicaps are requested to contact the concierge.
THE SCHOOL DOES NOT PURCHASE insurance on behalf of the students, rather it is the responsibility of each student to take care of his/her own insurance. The school does not provide locked or guarded areas for clothing or property, so use the coatracks in the classroom.
